Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham breaks the LAW (of Gravity)

Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham is a gravity-defying wheelchair motocross athlete who competes in BMX freestyle events across the country. Wheelz was born with spina bifida, a neural tube defect which left him unable to use his legs and put him in a wheelchair full-time since the age of 8.

He’s adapted a fusion of BMX and skateboard tricks to perform in his wheelchair resulting in an athletic art he calls WCMX to inspire others to see their “own challenges in a new way.” He was the first person to perform a back flip in a wheelchair at the age of 14 and then topped that with an impossible double back flip at 18.
