Crooked Reggae Band Interview & Acoustic with Upryzin at Northwest World Reggae Festival 2017
Upryzin interviews and gets an acoustic set from the reggae band Crooked from The Siletz Reservation in Oregon while at the Northwest World Reggae Festival.
The band blends various genres and styles of music, pumping out a unique Pacific Northwest beat. They describe their sound as “Northwest acoustic reggae.” The band released a four-song CD called Crooked EP.
Crooked features Brett Lane on guitar and vocals, Casee Case on bass guitar and Dakota Burgins providing percussion. All three cousins are tribal members of the Siletz Reservation in Lincoln County, Oregon. The reservation is made up of numerous non-contiguous parcels of land in east-central Lincoln County, mostly east of the city of Siletz, between it and the Polk County line. The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians is made up of 27 Native American tribal bands that once inhabited a range from northern California to southwest Washington.
