CALI Strong Sponsors Kettlebells & Alarmbells 911 Throwdown on the Battleship USS IOWA
CALI Strong is proud to be a sponsor this year of Frog Fitness Kettlebells and Alarmbells 911 fitness competition on the deck of the historic battleship of presidents, the USS IOWA, in the Port of Los Angeles, California.
Kettlebells & Alarmbells 911 Throwdown is a functional fitness competition being held February 18th, 2017. This sports event was created to honor of the brave men and women of the United States Military and First Responders (fire, police and emergency medical personnel).
At the Frog Fitness Kettlebells and Alarmbells 911 fitness competition, first responders, active military, veterans and civilians compete to showcase to the public what it takes to to be physically prepared to handle the tough and dangerous work performed daily by the brave men and women of the military and first responder profession.

What I’ve noticed is not only in the military, but in the first responders community, that when you reach out your hand to help one of them, they almost always grab your hand with only one of theirs, because they’re using their other hand to reach behind them and pull up somebody else with them.

I’ve always seen first responders as unsung heroes and very special people because, when everyone else is running away from danger, they run into it.

Battleship USS IOWA Museum
The USS IOWA (BB-61) was built in 1940 and served our country until the year 1990. Designated the “World’s Greatest Naval Ship” due to her big guns, heavy armor, fast speed, longevity and modernization, she kept pace with technology during her extensive military career. No other battleship in our nation’s history has welcomed and escorted more of our nation’s Commander in Chiefs.
In 2011, the USS Iowa was donated to the newly formed Pacific Battleship Center, a non-profit organization located in Los Angeles, CA. The war ship was then permanently moved to Berth 87 at the Port of Los Angeles in 2012, where she is available to the public as the USS Iowa Museum.
